Make one-tap WhatsApp message links from a Sheet
No paid tool. No API. A formula builds the message and you tap send.
The idea
WhatsApp has a simple link format: https://wa.me/ followed by the phone number with country code, and an optional ?text= message. When you tap the link, WhatsApp opens with the message ready. You press send.
A Google Sheets formula can build these links for every row. This is not bulk messaging. You still tap each one, so each message goes to a person who knows you. Do not use it to spam people who did not ask to hear from you.
Use only contact details you have a right to use. Keep numbers in a column without spaces or plus signs. Start them with the country code, 91 for India.
Your task
Build payment reminder links
In a new sheet, type the headers Phone, Name, Amount, Due date in A1 to D1. In row 2, type 9876500001 (a made-up number), Asha, 12500, and the date 5 Nov 2026. Paste the prompt.
I use Google Sheets. Row 1 has headers. Columns: A = Phone (10 digits, no spaces), B = Name, C = Amount (number), D = Due date (a real date). Write one formula for E2 that makes a clickable link labelled "Send on WhatsApp". It must open https://wa.me/91 plus the phone number, with this ready message: "Hi [Name], your invoice of Rs [Amount] is due on [day month, like 5 Nov]. Please confirm payment. Thanks!" Use HYPERLINK and ENCODEURL so the spaces and symbols work. Show the formula only, then the link it will build for my row 2 data.
