Write a short application email

Lesson 3 of 55 min read1 task · 3 questions

Recruiters get a lot of email. Short and specific is more likely to get read.

The idea

Many recruiters skim. A long cover letter that repeats your resume rarely helps. A short email does a better job. It says who you are, which job you want, why you fit, and what you have attached.

A good application email has four parts: the job you are applying for, two true facts from your experience that match the post, one line on why this role, and a polite close. Keep it under 150 words.

Give the AI the job and your two strongest facts. Tell it to skip empty lines like "I am a hard-working team player". Then read the email aloud. If a sentence does not sound like you, change it. If a sentence is not true, delete it.

Your task

Write an application email in under 150 words

Use the sample details first. Then try it with a real job post and your own facts.
