Fix a bad answer with follow-ups

Lesson 4 of 55 min read1 task · 3 questions

The first answer is a draft. The second message is where the quality comes from.

The idea

Most people read the first answer, feel disappointed and give up. Do this instead: talk to the chatbot like you would to a colleague. Say what is wrong and ask for a change.

Three follow-ups that work almost every time: "Make it shorter." "Ask me what you need to know before you answer." "Give me 3 different versions."

The second one is the strongest. Let the AI interview you. It spots the gaps in your brief that you did not see.

Your task

Improve your profile bio by letting the AI interview you

Use a rough bio you already have. If you do not have one, use this sample.

Your slip: copy-paste prompt
Here is my current professional bio:
"I am a hard working person with 4 years of experience in office work. I am good at many things and I am a team player."

Do not rewrite it yet. First, ask me exactly 3 short questions that will help you make it specific and believable. Number the questions. Wait for my answers.

What you should get

A real example of a good result. Your wording will differ a little. The shape and the facts should match.

Printed resultExample

1. What is your actual job title, and in which kind of team or industry do you work?
2. What is one result you are proud of from the last year? Numbers help (for example: time saved, money saved, people helped).
3. Which two skills or tools do you use most in your work?

Check yourself

Q2 The first answer is not good. What should you do?

Q3 Which follow-up gives you choices?
